Very much like traffic signals and airport signage, iGMNS is based on the international language of graphic. iGMNS is a great tool for teachers, composers, and for people interested in gaining respect for percussionists. iGMNS covers instruments such as konga, djembe, tabla, cajon, drum set, bells, shekere, udu and many more.
Because it covers instruments played all over the world, iGMNS has to be a universal international system. Presently we have no international standard music notation system for percussionists. To write for their instruments, many percussionists around the world supplement the old music writing system with their own made up symbols and letters.
