Changuito is the man! I have all of his videos including the jams with Giovanni. Changuito is so versatile also, he is as fluent on drum kit as well as afro-cuban congas and timbales. To see what I mean, check out the video " Evolution of Songo". You will see Changuito play the grooves on drum kit first, then demonstrate the same groove on congas, then finally on timbales !!!! This is the most incredible percussion versatility ever captured on video.

Another great video is a NAMM clinic featuring a concert with Giovanni Hidalgo and Steve Gadd. Giovanni blows Gadd away in this video and makes him appear as though Gadd is a schoolboy. Giovanni shows his tremendous versatility on timbales and djembe and leaves Gadd in the dust. This is a perfect example of how afro-cuban percussionists have an advantage over traditional drummers in regards to rythmic technique and ability. The Changuito video you should not be without.
