It is with a sad heart that I tell you this....Junior Tirado the GREAT Drum maker has passed away in Brooklyn, NYC, after being in a coma for almost a year. He will always be known for his "Junior" hand made congas, that will surely become "collectors" models....I have owned them in the past and they are truly well made and great sounding conga drums.....R.I.P. "Junior"........"JC" Johnny Conga....

Wow...

Junior was the last of the mohicans...if you got a drum from him, you have something special...when i wanted a drum i made it a point to troop it out to Williamsburg and get a drum from the source...he was a modern day Vergara...his shop wasn't big, and there wasn't anything particularly exciting about it but the drums that he made were probably the best congas made anywhere in the US or abroad...a legend has passed...
