Hey everyone!! I just discovered this site and I got to say i'm impressed. I can't wait to learn more about percussion form all of you. I'm a wannabe percussionist at the moment, but soon plan to start taking lessons and devoting more practice time to this art.

I've always loved and have been intrigued by percussion instruments and I've finally decided that now is the time to start learning.

Hey thanks for the welcome guys.

Man, I have lots of instruments I've been collecting. i think I have an percussion addiction, haha! I have the set of Giovanni Galaxy Congas with Bongo's and just yesterday I came up on an awesome deal for a set of LP Batas.

I really have no idea how to play them yet. To me they are pieces art, and like an aspiring artist I soon want to learn how to paint :)

Anyhow, I would say the congas spark the most interest in me right now.

Not really bad for the start - we had many entering this forum with Aspires in the past

Keep your ears open to all sorts of percussion-related music, if possible, learn by instruction and - enjoy! :)

Quite naturally.

Welcome again.

Thanks everyone. Hey King Conga, I live in South Gate (da hood) haha!

Hey everyone, so for someone who has no percussion playing experience, but feels the rhythm in his bones, where do you recommend I start to learn. DVD tutorials, maybe an inexpensive teacher you could recommend, Youtube vids?
