Little insight into Cuban music is evident. Musical issues aside, this is a very unbalanced presentation that focuses on the many real faults of the socialist state while downplaying the also very real improvements the Cuban socialism has made for many people compared with the pre-revolutionary state that preceded it. The piece also highlights many of the real and potential improvements that may come from introducing elements of capitalism, without even mentioning the many real potential downsides of those social changes. This "documentary" is a gross oversimplification of a complex dynamic and should be considered a propaganda piece not a documentary.

I will bite on this one and rant a bit.

US policy is so fickle as there is open travel to Russia, China, Vietnam and so many other nations where the US has had major conflicts and political disagreements. But this little island is such a poster child for the "US against oppressive governments" and how we take the high road to support democracy. It is all political and basically who's cannidate will win Florida in a national election. Love my country guys, it is just so fickle sometimes.

I know that access to Cuba has certainly opened and there are many ways to visit the island through other ports. Just a rant today!
