Little insight into Cuban music is evident. Musical issues aside, this is a very unbalanced presentation that focuses on the many real faults of the socialist state while downplaying the also very real improvements the Cuban socialism has made for many people compared with the pre-revolutionary state that preceded it. The piece also highlights many of the real and potential improvements that may come from introducing elements of capitalism, without even mentioning the many real potential downsides of those social changes. This "documentary" is a gross oversimplification of a complex dynamic and should be considered a propaganda piece not a documentary.
