I need to buy a chair for my conga playing. This may be a silly question, but anyone with strong opinions about a specific type or brand to use?

Probably something with cushion for prolonged sitting? Back is optional? Something that can rise/be lowered? Probably something with no wheels?

Any thoughts?

Thanks!

I usually play on sitting on a cajon which fits my height (6 feet 3"). ALlows a straight back.
Other than that, one of those costlier drum thrones, with a back support, might
be what you are looking for. Those with the motorbike saddle design.
But you should never slouch while resting again the back support, that is only for rests.

Look for Drum thrones. No wheels, Backrest or the Motorcycle type.

It's then anything that feels comfortable for you and you feel you can sit on for at least one hour. I would stay away from anything under $75 as it will end up breaking, or any of the simple hole and pin height adjustment.Look underneath the cushion and make sure the support bracket arrangement extends as much as possible across the circumference of the cushion.

Also consider the weight. The high end Roc n Soc hydraulic tend to be quite heavy.

Go to your local Guitar center or music shop, sit around and see what tickles your fancy

thanks! I'll take a look at the chairs you all posted. I need a few chairs for different instruments. Will be nice to get the right ones.
