I've always been a fan of Volcanoes. I saw them frequently when I loved on Oahu and I see them every now and then here in SF. A guy in one of my classes has one, and it's a great drum. I'm also an Isla fan, and those are all around S.F. as well.

Isla and Volcano have very different philosophies and approaches when it concerns conga
construction and sound.

Those new Volcano bata in the video sounded good to me. I liked how the Iya was tuned.
Those guys have a cool set up there don't they!

Different congas can (will) produce different sounds, period. And those different sounds may be perfect for one type of music and not for another. It's all a matter of personal choice.
