Which bata drums?

Postby vasikgreif » Tue Jan 27, 2009 8:40 pm

Hi, could you please recommend me what brand of batas sounds best? Would it be better to buy for example LP batas and change the head, or should I buy hand made batas? I live in Czech republic and can't try any bata here, so would be glad when you point me to the right direction...

I have herd many bata.

and i like isla's because they SING.

check out their webpage at http://www.islapercussions.com/batas.html

also know that he is doing his last orders for 6 months. so if you want them now contact him. I have played LP, Meinl, Sol, pearl, Matthew smith and ISLA and the only one that comes close are Matthew smith. All of the others are great drums but there is something about marios batas that ring with my ears. The Matthew smith drums are beyond beautiful and sound amassing but i feel that mario has mastered the tonal design of these drums. For my ears.
