:0 Hello to all,
I heard a version of Makuta in 6/8, I am in search of all information about this makuta. I heard it played only by the group "Danza Nacional of Cuba."

Most of the Makuta I have heard is in 6/8, there are some rhythms that sound like Makuta from Ghana Kpanlogo (listen to Aja Addy as an example)
Here is a version of Makuta in 4/4:

Hello Tres Golpes,
thank you for your answer! I know Makuta in 4/4, I studied it and many worked. The songs also. But in France, those that know makuta in 6/8 are less numerous.

OK...Here are some articles on the Origins of Makuta from the Bantu:

Makuta used to be more popular in the 1950's, the Afro Frenetico album has some Makuta Rhythms. This Sunday, a guy I know (Moises) started playing Makuta quite unexpectedly(2/4), now today Tuesday I hear it again in this board...time to brush up on this ancient rhythm !

Hello,
thank you for this proposition! I will contact you by email Saturday morning. I hope that the timetables will coincide because there is an important time-lag between France and USA.
