Did a search on rudiments and didn't come up w/ anything. Are rudiments for congas the same as those for snare drum or is it a whole different animal?:blues:

Yes. You can do the same rudiments with your conga. Of course do it with different approaches. With differents sounds etc.

There are 26 fundamental rudiments. Buddy Rich has a great book on rudiments and other stuff in it. Rudiments on congas have advanced the playing and soloing styles of todays up and coming players,due to in great part by Changuito from Cuba and Giovanni from Puerto Rico. In Gio's "One on One" video he describes and plays a few of those rudiments and then some....hahahaha......At your Service...JC JOHNNY CONGA.. :;):

Hi. On of them video where Giovanni interview Jose Luis Quintana "Changuito", Gio asked Changuito if he incorporated drums rudiments into his playing and Changuito says No. I was surprised because some of them movements he does on congas are really close to some of the drum rudiments. Like they say "Cada Loco Con Su Tema"
