This forum never ceases to amaze me in all of the excellent info that gets passed around. Kudos to you all!
I have been searching for some practice music from Ray Barretto but am quite overwhelmed by the selection out there. What are your best recommendations/favorites/must have CD's that can be found? I have heard that Que Viva La Musica is one of his best. Is the Best of Ray Barretto really that?
BTW... Anybody looking for some classic funky stuff to practice to should check out Average White Band. Sammy Figueroa is pretty repititous in his patterns but opens up occasionally and shows some stuff. The Live at Montreux DVD is fun to watch.
