For those who don't know salsa, this is the kind of classic music that I feel down to my heart, and inspired me to learn percussion. If your soul feels connected like mine does, we are all brothers, and you appreciate what real music is.

If you are not familiar with this kind of music, so much knowledge (learning your drums) can be obtained by listening to this music. With today's technology, videos like the one I posted are readily available, have helped me learn drums/rhythm, and just have a great time playing them.

This particular clip is "El Negro Bembon" by Cortijo y Su Combo, sung by Ismael Rivera. I hope you all enjoy. The
conguero looks a little off towards the end, but I let it slide b/c he has beautiful drums. He'll still kick my butt. :D

I tried to embed the video, but was unable to. If posting this video is a problem admins, let me know.

Definitely. I wasn't alive during these times, but wish I was simply for the music.

I was trying to identify some of the musicians. The piano player looks like it's still Rafael Ithier, so it appears pre-El Gran Combo...hard to tell though. I'm not sure.

Great stuff.
