Gotta love the "It's 3-2!" "No, it's 2-3!!" debate in the comments of this one. Really shows the confusion generated by the use/misuse of those terms.

What is an interesting coincidence for me is that I just went back to Ed Uribe's, "Essence of Afro-Cuban Percussion & Drum Set" specifically to review his clave section.

First time I looked at it years ago I didn't really get what he was on about with playing clave in 'one' vs 'two' - makes a little more sense to me now and, in the video, I think he's showing clave played in one - then two (after that I'm not sure - sadly I don't speak Spanish).

This is a really great exercise!!
I'd like to work on it when I get back to my drums!!
In Tn with parents now.
Too bad they tried to use the numbers 2 and 3,, that detracts people's comments from the real prowess of the exercise itself.

I quickly looked at the video and the clave is a 3/2 rumba.
