Conga rudiments

I've set my congas aside these past few months to start learning drumset. I can already see dramatic improvements in my technique, accuracy, and confidence in playing the snare drum just from learning the rudiments. A conga teacher once suggested I practice those rudiments on congas-- at the time I just rolled my eyes, but now am convinced that it will help my conga playing as well. Just my 2 cents.

yeah i do that too, an exelent book fo both stick controll, (and if you do the same on congas its helpfull), is

Stick Control for the snare Drummer By George Laurence Stone,
i use it my self on both snare and congas. also you should check out the stuff on congaplace.com for congas. also just find the 26 rudiments for snare and incorperate them onto congas.

i have also used the stone books with my snare instructer (Rich Hogan) and i found it also works well on drum set

play the left hand part with your left hand.
play the right hand part with your right foot on base drum
with your ride cym keep quarter notes
and with left foot on the hats play 8 notes
