I saw Papo Pepin with Jose Mangual's band a few years ago. That night Papo was just playing one (1) conga, an 11 3/4" Patato. It was Papo on conga, Mangual on bongo, Johnny Almendra on timbales. What Papo did with just one conga that night I don't think the best of the best could have done with four. Most times "less is best".

Papo Pepin is a great player...a legend no doubt. I prefer this legend.
