Cop the bass line, either part of it rhythmically or all of it without getting in the way,but also keep it simple. Posted: Fri May 24, 2002 10:04 amIf used properly the TUMBAO does the trick. I use it with one of the bands I play in. Make a copy of the country-rock track your doing and practice. Practice makes perfect!!

Did you ever record what you ended up with? I'd like to hear it via mp3. One of my CDs, Afro-Cuban All Stars I think, includes a track with steel guitar--it sounded great.

You may want to try adding a shaker (those egg shakers work great and are cheap too -a couple actually provide a nice weighted feel in one hand) in one hand while playing TUMBAO with the other.
