Google App - Salsa Rhythm

I was turned on to this app by Dann Sherrill of Nashville, when I was studying with him this past summer.
Check it out... I highly recommend it!

It is meant as a salsa dance study tool, but works great as a play along tool as well.
It allows you to select which instruments you wish to play, and also what parts they will play.
From the google play app site: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.salsarhythm&feature=search_result#?t=W251bGwsMSwxLDEsImNvbS5zYWxzYXJoeXRobSJd

Instruments: Clave, Piano, Congas, Timbales, Bongos, Bass, Maracas, Guiro, Cowbell and an Instructor

Also included:
■ 21 different piano patterns, 11 Bass patterns, 28 percussion patterns including Clave, Tumbao, Guaguancó, Cáscara, Rumba, Caballo, Danzón and more
■ Instructor voice counting the beats On-1 and On-2
■ Control the tempo (BPM), musical key and the volume of each individual instrument
■ Supports both 2/3 and 3/2 Clave orientations

I have been using it lately to study quinto locks. I rec (line-in) from the app to my Tascam DR-07MKII, which has a great feature of overdubbing a previously recorded track.
Still rough on the skill level, but here is a resulting overdub of a Salsa Rhythm app track, including clave & guaguanco, & me on my newly acquired Gon Bops Tumbao Pro quinto...
