Would you pros tell me or write out the rythyms that would be approiate to play for 60s/70s rock-n-roll? I know I can use the bolero for the ballads, but what about the faster songs?

Well it depends on the type of Rock and Roll..it has many varieties to it...u might be able to put in a Tumbao on a tune or two...In my experience I would lean towards 'hand' percussion, bongos, tambourine, shakers, etc...try to be 'imaginative' by adding 'colors'( chimes, shakers, etc) to the music, it's not always about rhythm..and some tunes don't call for any type of perc. at all......that's my 3 congas...do u have any samples of the music ur playing to?..If i could hear the music I might be able to give u some ideas...
