Matadors and Marathon Exclusives

Are Meinl Marathon Exclusives (with chrome hardware) the equivalent to LP Matadors? It seems like the Meinl Pros and LP Classics are at about the same level and price, and the Exclusives are just one notch down. Any preferences for one or the other?

Although it depends very much on your personal taste, I would opt for the Meinl Congas. I have them for my band at school, and the sound is simply fabulous. Meinl has experimented and thus improved a lot in the midprice range since the first Marathons came up.

Well, at home I play LP Classic and also Matadors: The latter ones are ALSO awesome, especially if xou consider the price. Almost everone in this forum has had some ecstatic praises for them...

So, all in all, I GUESS: the two drum brand are both pretty good, not really that much different....
