There was some discussion in recent posts on Afro percussion congas, unfortunately I can't remember the thread title. A set of three has recently come up for sale and I'd welcome any information or opinions on these congas.

Hey how are you all today . My instructor has a pair of afros , they are awsome . They take a #### of a beating and they sound great and i mean realy good . I can't say enough about them they are great .

Sorry for the late reply. But, are the Afro's fiber or wood?

If it's fiber, BUY THEM!!! You get best of both worlds, wood&fiber-sound in one drum. In fact they have fiber shells with sawdust glued on the inside. They're called Fiberwood.
Hey, it's a Dutch invention by John van der Meulen.

If it's wood, BUY THEM !!! Especially if the shells are made by Michel De La Porte. They are a piece of art and sound great.
