Don't know guys but I saw at NAMM, and tried, a new set of Remo Poncho Sanchez Congas that do not look like the ones posted in this thread...

They look like the design in the Remo's Jimmy Morales models but with "earth colors". (Jimmy's congas are more in pastel colors). Also, two different designs like Jimmy's. Tried a set with Fyberskins and tried another with NuSkyns...all new Poncho Sanchez' models...Everybody said good things about the Fyberskins but did not like the NuSkyns...(Most of the Pearl crew at NAMM were at the Remo booth and tried them...Bobby Allende, Marc Quinones, Eddie Montalvo, Carlitos Soto, Jesus Diaz).

Don't know if Remo has something posted in their site yet with photos of these congas.

Saludos!

Tamboricua,

Yes! Carlitos Soto and Eddie Montalvo were with us at NAMM...(See the pictures of NAMM at Pearl's US site, www. pearldrum.com There is one picture in one of the galleries that I am there with Bobby Allende and Glen Caruba and the guy they do not mention, no hair, is Carlitos Soto).

Just as a heads up...We just signed the bongo player from La Sonora Poncena...Domingo Tito Gutierrez and more will come...

Saludos!

I don't know, I think some of the synthetics, especially the new skins, are harder on your hands. They dry them out more and have absolutely not "stick" for the slaps, not like a nice worn in cow!!

Tamboricua,

From who did you get that shot? (Is not in Pearl's site). That is when we had our "rumba" in the Pearl's sound booth. (For those who do not know, NAMM has strict rules regarding noise. Impromptu rumbas or playing of instruments that extend for too long or that are high in volume are not allowed and companies get fined by NAMM. Remember the convention is to do business and there is a lot of complaints that when people are doing a lot of noise, business cannot be conducted. Pearl, one of the companies they are constantly checking for noise, has their own "sound booth" where theey could have presentations of their artists "muffled" by the sound booth...Is an interesting concept...You could hear it but is muffled big time...Is like been in a big "fish tank" with no water)...

I am they guy with the Cata...The rest I bet you recognize....

Saludos!
