Here is the scoop, I ordered remo nuskyn for my gig congas because of tempature and humidity problems with tuning. The online store only has one in stock at the time, They state the 10' 11' and 12' fit for LP aspire, and meinl headliner congas which I have headliners... I order the 1st for my conga it fits like a glove, they get the second one in and it fits good on the drum but the rim it doesnt quite fit, it wont go into the rim and seat right.

So I paid 50.00 for this skin, I cant return it and it dont fit. So a bro of mine says cut the rim and he could weld it back like new, so I say well what do I have to loose im out 50.00 if I dont use the skin and I need it to work. So I go for it, I let him cut the rim opened it up a tad and he welded it back with a small metal strap across the gap. Skin fit perfect, tightened down just great and works like a charm.

I know some people would never dream of doing such a thing, but sense the drums are not that pricey and I needed this to work with the nuskyn I went for it and it worked the rim is as sqaure as can be tightened great and sounds great. I dont think I would have done this to a more expensive set and im just glad it worked out.

The quinto I have must not be a 10' like meinl claims its more like a 9-1/2 or something wierd like that, they say they never made anything less than a 10 in headliners pah!
