As far as companies that produce these drums...i don't know...
Junior Tirado in NY used to make them...

JCR Percussion i believe makes barriles, forum member Isaac is a rep...he'll confirm...

and Matthew Congas in PA may probably make them...

P.S. Jorge i'm still working on getting the photos up...Ralph

Oz a boriqua friend just had a couple of those dominican congas cut to the respective head sizes. They look good. And those Dominican congas aren't expensive and the wood is not bad the craftsmanship is the only thing, but you can put a bit of care , and they can be nice Bomba drums.

before but dont know if they have been custom made or just bought some where. either way if anyone comes across someone or some place that sells them let me know

thanks

that is a very good how to, akdom. i actually have all the tools that i need to actually build one. ive looked around for a place that has barrels but, i wanted to ask if anyone here knew of vendor that they themselves have dealt with or anyone that knew, that they may want to recommend.
iam seriously thinking of just making my own bomba drum.

thanks
