Am thinking seriously of adding another drum to my 3 drum (Tumba, conga, quinto) plus djembe setup. I know it's personal taste-- but curious what "4th drum" forum pros like to use for tonal variation. Another conga, tumba, quinto?
Well.. I dont use a quinto in my set up... For me the quinto has no place in a band situation. Quinto is for dropping chops in a rumba style setting.
For 4 drum set up I use 2 x Congas, 2 x Tumbas. So I would suggest you get a Tumba. Depends if you are looking to add another bass note drum or another mid range pitched drum. What extra sound do you want? That should be what leads you to your purchase.
Either conga or tumba is fine, depending on what style you play and what sound it is you want. Maybe a Super Tumba?
The aquatic "tubs" are definitely "super" and also my style. I would look forward to tuning
Well, I just love the idea of laying in a super tumba, but I think you're right and another conga tuned between my conga and tumba would do... Now... all I need to do is put together the shekels and do some comparison shopping. Thanks for your input. Always valued and respected.
I am delighted you responded. Always have valued/tracked your posts and respect your professionalism. Thanks for the advice, and was pointing toward another conga. Just looking for final tip from forum pros like yourself. Now, all that's left is getting the funds together (as always).
