I have a 12" conga/tumba made by Jay in 1995 that I would sell or trade. Is in great condition and sounds awesome.I will post a picture of it later today, when I get home.I love trading, but for this rare beauty it will have to be a rare conga, bongo' or timbales. No mass produced commercial drums. It would have to be along the lines of Ismael,Junior,Vergara,Casa Latina, old Valje,Leedy timbales.I don't think Jay will continue making drums because of health issues,as it is right now,his waiting list is over 1 yr.This particular conga can be played as a macho or an hembra, depending on how is tuned. Saludos, Dario. Saludos, Dario
I love trading because I'm a drum freak just like most of you in this forum.I'll consider selling it.It was made in 1995,ash wood, incredible sound.I've been using it as a tres golpes, but have used it as a macho as a one conga for a traditional Cuban charanga that I sometimes sub for the conguero.Tipical charangas one use one conga,Aragon,Broadway,Fajardo....This conga provides a very rich fat sound as a macho,as a tumba it provides a great bottom as well. I will take $600 or an interesting trade.Skin on Skin are the Rolls Royce of congas. In the photo showing 3,is the one in the middle. ROMPE,QUE ROMPE TAMBO'.ALAFIA, DARIO (formerly Doctorumba)
