My brother Omelenco I have to disagree with you in relation of the tumbadoras in Conjuntos,or Orquestras...In the mentioning of founder fathers of bringing the tumbadore to the U.S....after mentioning Chano Pozo then everything in good,but.....Chino Pozo came,(1936), even before Chano Pozo and he was an all around percussionist,Conga,Timbales, and Bongos, also there is two more percussionists which play congas and Bongos which jazz players before Chano Pozo.who are they?....In relation to Cuba the honor goes to Miguelito Valdez,Santos Ramirez,Oscar Valdez Sr.,(the father of Oscar Valdez of Irakere Group)....Arsenio Rodriguez formed his Conjunto after recording with Miguelito Valdez and the Conjunto Casino de la Playa,(THAT"S THE PLACE WHERE ARSENIO FOUND OUT WHAT THE Congas COULD DO FOR THE CONJUNTOS), and took the idea to his Conjunto.Dr. Zaragemca
