Hi!

Does anyone know where and how to get conga skinwires?
LP, for example, has some in the catalogue - but you won´t get them over here in Europe.
If you want to mount a new head, it´s sometimes not bad to have an extra head. That´s what I´ve just thought about.

Should that be too much of a hassle, I´d rather do without :D

Hi Mike!
I always use the ones, that came with the old skin ( in your case, the original skin). I know, you wanna keep them together, but in case you really need the old heads sometime, you can try to use brother olsongo's method to remount them (see pic below). Theres an old thread covering this topic (see onile's comment about remounting an old skin):

Maybe afterwards the rim has to be closer to the edge than before, or if it won't work like that, you can mount the tumba-head on the conga and the conga-head on the quinto and the quinto-head on the bongos!
All the best,
Tom!

Yeah, I agree with you, Thomas, about simply taking the old wire for a new skin - the least expensive way anyway!

Thanks for sharing the remounting idea.

Best wishes
Mike

P.S. I really can´t wait untlil I get the mule skin from Isaac. Feeling like a child before Christmas :)
