Tell me Solongo is the one you are showing Water Buffalo?

Incidentally, I just received similar from an Ebay purchase today. Would you be so kind to tell me what is the Model number on the inside of yours and if it is for a Conga or Tumba?

I ordered a skin for a Conga (11.75) it is marked 'M265B' but just appears too big. Also for the fitting would you put it straight on or turn it upside down and soak it overnight?

Your advice or input from any one else is much appreciated.

Derbeno, what I have is an M265B, it measures 10" 3/4 inches on top or the mouth of the drum side to side. Its for a quinto, the conga is a 11" 1/4. the tumba measures around 12" inches.

Measure the top of the drum and compare to the top of the head.

To place.... wet till the water has soaked a bit, and then place over the head, tighten slightly about a half a turn, evenly on all the lugs and let dry naturally overnite, do not speed up with dryer or place directly in the hot sun.
DO NOT LEAVE SOAKING OVER NITE !! you may create more work for yourself. :O

Also if you have a dog keep it away from him, as he may shew on it.

And if its water buffalo or cow? I really don't know.

Its new, but have had it for a while, over 10 years.

Well I guess those Matador heads have been water buffalo for the last 10-12 years or so - but that doesn´t make the mad heads!
Just an example: I have a Matador conga with the original head, and it blends perfectly with the sound of my LP Classic quito on which I mounted a high quality cowhide!

Just my 2 cents from the old world where the buffalo groans
