I asked rhythm traders about the hoops it they are OEM fit like LP-since they are made in Thailand. My implications were, do they fit LP. The slaes guy emailed me back that they are made for their line of congas-whatever they are called and not meant to be replacements for LP. So I'm not sure what size or thickness etc etc.
But fore the price and usiing Thebreeze's method of getting a oversized one and work it into the size needed sounds to be the best way to go.
$8 for hoop + shipping, alittle hammering + $10 for a weld + about $20

BUT, I found a guy says he can do it for $20 a pop. + gas+ $25

Trying both ways won't hurt I suppose, but wanting to try the metal shop guy- might learn something.
