If anyone is interested I am going to sell my Juniors. Why? because I have decided I probably will never play them, and to have them as a collector item is not what I want anymore. I have decided to get my life going in the direction that will get me closer to my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ and I need to part with certain things that are keeping me from doing that. I hope that I can sell these locally because I really want the buyer to be able to see them, play them, and really want them and the best way is to see them up close in person.
Thanks to everyone and all your support. I plan on peeking in to the forum still and adding input once in awhile. I haven't decided on a price yet but it will be somewhere between 1500 and 1800 dollars. They have been restored for me by a great friend in SF and are ready for a new owner.

Hi Marco. I would not say that I won't ship them. It's just that I would really prefer to be able to meet the person and talk with him/her and make sure that they are really happy about buying the drums. I am always nervous about shipping due to damage, although I am probably the best packer in the world, there is always something that can go wrong. Plus,,,, what if you just don't like them for whatever reason? Having said that, I would ship if no local interest, but shipping to the UK would also probably be costly?

If I hadn't just bought a set of Resolution congas I would be in the market. No doubt you will find the right person to pass these on too. Good luck.

Beautiful drums. Too bad the holidays have wiped me out...physically, and financially lol.

Thanks for the inputs guys. I won't be too pressed as far as the money goes. I know it's Christmas and all so this is just really a first opportunity to the forum before I go to craigslist and or ebay. Thanks again.

This set was mine and I sold it on Ebay to a guy in SF.
Junior made this set for me in 1999 when he was in partnership with Cali (JCR). The set was made by Junior in Cali's baseman on Ogdon St. in the Bronx, near Yankee Stadium. Junior made this set an inch taller than his regular congas. This set has an incredible sound, I sold it only because I had 5 more Juniors. Here is a photo of when I had them. The guy that restored them in SF stained the mahogany darker. Maybe I should buy them back ?
Feliz Navidad ! Dario :D

PS. The bongos next to the Tom Flores Valjes were Mongo Santamaria's Vergara bongos. I got them from Mongo after his 1st. stroke. Dario :D

Here is another picture when they were mine, with two Timbas that I had.

Dario...Those are awesome pictures. Thanks very much for sharing the history on them as it really gives more meaning to them. I really like the pictures. You must have a great photo archive which in itself is something to treasure. Well at least I know more about them which I can share with potential buyers. One thing about Juniors...the mahogany is really thick which makes them pretty heavy. If you closed your eyes you would think that they were made of oak. Thanks again for the good words.
p.s.....those Valjes are incredible, also a true work of art.

Just an FYI....I have just listed my beloved Juniors on Ebay item no..160203499833. I informed everyone a while back about it but only two people made inquiries and the sale never happened so I am going the ebay route this time.
Thanks everyone.
