Beautiful one piece shell Conga

Postby Thebreeze » Mon Jun 09, 2008 2:10 am

Hello forum members. I have decided that I am going to part company with one of the nicest one piece shell congas I have ever seen. I will describe it to you...
I don't know what kind of wood it is but it is at least 1" thick. The inside of the drum is pretty smooth, not all gauged up like
many of those other drums out there. The hardware is made of 100% stainless steel. Even the tuning lugs, nuts and washers
are stainless. Whoever made this drum was most likely an artist/craftsman because so much fine work went into making this drum. The head is about 11 1/2" but because of the large body, it sounds more like a tumba. It is very heavy, about 40 lbs. I am thinking about a price but would prefer to negotiate privately on it. Or if someone has a King Conga Tumba that they would consider trading I would consider that. I have the King Conga, but need a Tumba to go with it. This is one nice drum but I don't have a real use for it at this time.

She's a real beaut all right! Needs to go on a diet and start getting more exercise perhaps? I like 'em roundish like that anyway.

It is a really nice looking drum. You have to see it to really appreciate it. It has 7 tuning lugs by the way.

I hear you there. This is probably a nice drum to keep in a special place in the house as a nice conversation piece. This drum will probably be around in 100 years for sure the way it was built. It has seven side brackets even.
