Certainely a unique conga. Really ahead of heir time. so many congas out there that spark interest but we can't have them all unfortunately. Omelenko has truly been blessed to have had so many beautiful congas in his collection.

It also has to do with being 57 years of age. I started getting congas in my early 20's. Vennie, you're a young buck still, when you get to 57 you would have had a hell of a lot of them.

Saludos,

That one on eBay had the sale ended early. He must have gotten a good cash offer. I have 2 that I will be selling, pretty good condition. The 12.5 has a new steerhide head and the 11 inch has a Bill Confer head that I got from Matthew Smith. The colors are close but, I wouldn't call them a matched set. Any advice on what to ask? Buck

Seriously though, hard to put a sale value on them without seeing them. Is there any chance you could post up some photos for us to see?

Here ya' go, Tonio. I pulled the head off the tumba to check something. The chrome is decent for the age, I replaced all of the sideplate screws and acorn nuts with stainless. I cleaned up the shell with Penetrol but, there are lots of small scratches. As the pics show, there are some gelcoat voids that look like original defects since the color goes all of the way through. I decided not to fix them due to; gelcoat has very little strength and, the repairs would show and I'd have to paint the whole drum. the quinto has none of the gelcoat voids, just lots of small scratches. There is one spot that looks like someone tried to touch up. It has a Bill Confer head and sounds awe

some! The bottom ring is deteriorating underneath. Both shells are sound and sound great. Thanks for the interest. Buckoh
