A Few Gon Bops For Sale

Postby deadhead » Sat Jul 11, 2009 8:52 pm

I'm having to get rid of most of my gear to help fund an upcoming business venture. I have some nice drums, I thought I would let congaplace have a crack at them before they end up on ebay.

Matching set of vintage Gon Bops in Oak, International Series pre-inlay. IC-3414 - 10.75" Conga and IT-3414 - 11.5" Tumba. Both original badges are intact and serial numbers are of the same series 107753 and 107757. Original stamped skins in great shape. Each drum has a split, a few minor scuffs and scrapes, but overall in excellent shape. Hardware is kind of tarnished with very minor rust and flaking chrome.

13.5" Mahogany Gon Bops Super Tumba. Recently refinished in walnut. Hardware is a little tarnished, but virtually no rust. The bands are pretty clean. A small split that I had repaired seems to have opened back up, it will need some attention. Old mule skin could use a change.

I also have a set of Maple staved shell JCR Bongos. Shell by Juan Figueroa in Bronx, NY, hardware and assembly by JCR. In excellent to mint shape with JCR mules.

PM me for details and more pics for each drum.

Currently they are still available, I'm asking $350+s&h for the bongos. JCR bongo bell, beater, and leather case included.

Hey guys, if anyone is interested, the super tumba is still available, and I also have a 9.5" requinto in mahogany as well. Both have new cow hides. Asking $300 per drum which includes shipping. PM me if interested.

FYI

I just got one of Ryan's drums and I couldn't be happier with the drum or with dealing with Ryan ... no worries for anyone who's interested.

Cheers

Loco, I'm sorry they were sold a few months ago to another board member. In fact all 4 have now been sold.

I appreciate the kind words Darrell, I'm glad you are enjoying the requinto! I also couldn't have been any more pleased with the transaction, you've opened my mind to international shipping which I usually steer very clear of. Thanks again, and happy drumming!
