Gon Bop requinto $ value ??

Postby PaulKargez » Sat Oct 10, 2009 10:56 pm

Hello all-
I know, here he goes again! :? I'm wondering that IF I decided to part with this drum, what a fair price for both parties would be?
No issues aside from the usual scratches. and missing bands.
Thank you in advance!

Peace,
Paul

That looks like a phillipine mahogany drum, with the lower grade
hardware. I'd give it a top value of $300. Those are frequently available, around here at least.

It looks as if the lugs are not original to the drum as well.

Those lugs are shaped different than all the original lugs I have seen.
Those lugs look a little too new, and it seems there might be a brand stamped
on the outside? They were probably too long and have that adaptor
and the nut on them is the kind Lp and Meinl use.

Here are pics of my Gon Bops with original lugs. Just for comparison
I got this drum for $225, and it is oak and with the GB top of the line hardware.

Also a shot of a requinto I restored with original lugs.

your lugs look more like the after market ones on the Valje to the left than the GB's

This drum is the same size and wood as yours and has original lugs.

a friends drum I put a new skin on, it also has
original lugs. All these drums have different shaped lugs
than the one in your picture.
