Here is a photo of the ones I had. Very dry sounding congas, no overtones like most of the fiberglass congas. However, I preferred the Echo Tones by Frank Mesa.

Well, I just checked out the King segundo - fantastic-sounding drum! The shell is beat and scratched to hell, but the hardware is in good shape. And it seems like even the Kings that look like they've been dragged behind a truck still have great chrome. One really surprising thing - it's as heavy as a tank! (or at least an LP Patato). Mine are really light, with super thin shells and this one had a noticeably thicker shell (not thick, but thickER than mine). Lugs also not as refined as mine (though it's a very subtle difference - possibly important only for dating purposes - looks fine). Guessing that mine are newer but hard to say for sure. Inside looked pretty much the same as mine, with the exact same size foam pad in the same position.

Nice KC's Dario!
James-you're right about the hardware. Mine is so well made and durable-looking. I love the lines. I am looking for a wood set; these KC's need some great conga bags for transport. One of my friends up here asked me to sell them to him, i told him i'd only trade for 3 top-shelf mis-matched wood ones!!!! I miss my Junior that went to docarroyo, but she went to a great home!! :D
