RitmoBoricua I agree with you 100% Ive heard guys playing my run of the mill Classics that made them sound incredible. I also agree that the drums made by SOS and Matt Smith are superior to mass produced congas and bongos. There are some that I will stay away from though.

They have a cheap set out that i played that only come in 10 & 11 in size. The skins make the difference. In my opinion they sound way better that then the cheaper LP'S' . I was able to get very good slap's out of them with out killing my hand's. For $255.00 you get 2 conga's and a stand. There bongo's are also good sounding too. I was thinking about getting the pair cause i don't like taking my Junior's out just to jam and get bang around by people who dont know or care about a quality drum made by a craftsman who no longer is around.

No wonder the fat-belly shape of these Tycoon congas remind me so much of Meinl's top-of-the-line Woodcraft Series congas.

Well, we all know looks are deceiving. I also like the way the "signature grand series" looks. At $600 a pop....eh...hard sell for me. Especially with no reputation yet.

Like most of us, I'd rather have the ugly duckling that sounds incredible. I hope they make a good product but let's see how this company does.
