I read an interview with Armando Peraza where he talks about the early days of drum making in Cuba. He credits Requena and Severino as the first drum makers to put hardware on bongos. He states that it is later that Vergara did the same with conga drums. Has anyone heard of Severino? Here is a link to article.

You wont believed this but I actually saw this article a couple of days ago when I was researching about Requena's. :shock:

Now you are probably thinking I am full of $#!7 jejeje but it is true... :D
