I have changed the heads a couple of times and the rubber washers on them to protect them. I do have the original washers. Also the plastic bags and the stand for them. The stand is so heavy that I have never used it. Everything else is the way they were made by LP back in the late 60's I do take care of them. They are in mint condition. I do use them for gigs sometimes. They are really nice sounding and are very light. They have the LP badges shown below. They also have a paper sticker in the back. Thanks for the complements.

I'm 25 years old and I didn't see much of percussion instruments while growing up in Cleveland, Ohio. But now I'm learning a whole lot with you guys! Thanks!
Leedy did you sell your golden sparkle lp set?...if yes, how much did you sell them for..
does any one have pictures of juniors first congas, made out of wine barrils, is hard to think that those lps were made after molding juniors, because lp's originals have the bottom opening really big.

Rumba Rumbero,
Look for a thread titled " Very Rare Junior Tirado Drum". There you can see pictures posted by our own Congaplace forum member, docarroyo.
THANKS I HAVE SEEN MANY JUNIORS BUT I WANNA SEE THE ONE LEEDY MENTIONED BECAUSE LPS AND JUNIORS SHAPES TO ME LOOK LIKE NOTHING ALIKE, IT WOULD BE NICE TO ASK MR. MARTIN COHEN IF IS TRUE THAT THE FIRST LP'S WERE MOLDED TO JUNIOR TIRADOS SHAPED CONGAS
Mr Cohen might very well state he did not and that his mold were original but not many other drums were around that even remotely resembled the original LP's. Vergaras and Requenas were slimer in profile. No Conga maker admits to "borrowing" styles from others yet the influence are apparent especialy in the early models of any drum maker. I had a set of LP's with the sticker lable and the bottom openings were varied and appropriate to the top, not always large. I sold them to a drumer in Philadelphia, They were very early examples and sounded great my first full "PRO" set when I took them to PR I was the envy of many drumers and was offered many beautiful wood drums for them. I was an idiot not to have taken the trade and also for selling them later, Oh well. LOL
Here is the updated photos of my Palisades Park Congas with the Remo FiberSkyn®3. I cannot lie! These congas don't look as good as Gallichio's or Leedy2's but I love them and like I said before, I'm not interested in refinishing them at the moment.
As I explained before, the head on the conga (far right) with the brown edging (discontinued as of Feb. 2010) is the FiberSkyn®3 I purchased years ago but never used it till now. The Quinto and Tumbadora have the new FiberSkyn®3.

Those look great, dings and all. I love the handles on LPs. I just think they look cool. My Meinls don't have handles, but they still are cool and sound teriffic.
