Started the restore project. I did use the Titebond, the guy I bought it from is a wood worker and he uses the same thing. It worked out great. Just sanding now and locating a chrome finisher for the hardware. A few people contacted me and all agreed that it is an older Delaporte. I will post some pics later of progress. Puttuing the shell back together helped out a lot with the out of round problem, but I will use the dowel anyways to help it a little more. Appreciate the help. I will contact you Congalou about hardware.

I've been enjoying working on the drum when I get a chance here and there. Some glue, sanding, 3 coats of stain, and a clear coat, and just haven't got to the chrome shop yet. I will see what they want to charge and go from there. Here are a few pics of progress so far.

Well, after getting the shell ready to go I started getting too busy at work to do anymore to the drum for a while. I ended up having the side plates and crown chromed. They came out very nice. Bought new nuts and washers but, I polished the hooks as there was no rust. As far as the bands go, I just sanded the paint off of them and figure at some time I'll send them out to get chromed also. I cut and welded the bands to get a tighter fit. Also filled in all the holes in the bands. Originally I was going to test fit them and drill the needed holes on the shell but as I put them on I decided to leave them and mount the skin on aswell. They fit nicely on the shell. This drum has a mellow tone to it. Although I have not cranked it up yet. Thanks for the compliments and advice.
