The real first 'top tuning' conga drum..I havent seen one of those since i was in Tom Flores shop on Sunset back in the late 70's...yep saw the crack!...

I have the Oak Quinto which is a great Rumba drum no splits yet no bands EVER, I know GB's had different level of drums the more you paid the higher the quality. The oak staves are always thicker than the mahogany, my mahogany GB's crack the oak do not. Here acouple of photos of the top tunning quinto.

These are no doubt some interesting drums with a very interesting concept. Here is a picture of a pair of Bops, fiberlass, that were on e-bay some months back.
Singerland also used this same concept with good success, see attached.
