I can put you in contact with an LP distributor in your area if you like.
LP is the most widely distributed brand in Australia.
Though you are in a different state to me, with far less LP sales, we still have a distributor in South Australia.
Let me know. :)

I could be persuaded to sell you my 3 Palladiums and LP collapsible cradle stands for the right price. :;):
I also looking to sell my 3 LP Classics with LP double conga stand and single LP cradle stand.

Oye Abure Abakua!
What would you be left with? You can't get rid of your Palladiums, you look too cool standing there behind them. Oh! I get it, you're getting a set of "VP"s, wouldn't that be great!

Stay cool mi pana!

I been thinking of getting some new regular Giovanni Galaxy's or new Classics....
While I dont mind hauling the Palladiums and love their sound, they are kinda impractical due to size and their novely has somewhat worn off...
If I get a good offer on them, they will be sold. Hopefully i still get visitational rights to them. :(

I been trying to sell my old Classics for a while now...

Hey thanks Abakua,
What I meant with my last post was that good 2nd hand LPs were a little hard to find. No worries about buying new LP stuff - the biggest LP distributor here is JR Music. I'm very familiar with their shop.

If you do want to sell them you can PM me or whatever you like and see what price range you are looking at. Geez, those Palladiums, they're heavy buggers though..

Is there a Gon Bops stockist in Australia?
cheers
Pavlo

Hi Pavloconga,

While it's a complete bitch to do - I bought my new set of 3 LP Patatos second hand on Ebay from a dude in Florida, US. I live in New Zealand - and managed to convince him that NZ did exist and that he should let me buy them.

Anyway - managed to eventually get them here using USPS Economy Surface Parcel Post (after we had to convince the US Postal Service that - yes NZ does exist and yes we do have a postal service!!)....which was the cheapest method. Fedex, UPS, DHL etc were all about US$500 per drum to ship! USPS ended up being US$80 per drum, but took about 7-8 weeks yo get here from the states.

So - don't rule out Ebay if you can find a good deal....worth thinking about. and everything is insured so that if it does get lost, broken etc - you should be able to claim on it.

All up - (even after NZ customs charges) I landed the drums here with 3 chunky Gibraltar conga stands w/ castors for less than 1/2 the price that I could get them in NZ or Aust.

Alafia Abures!
I most certainly hope that you are all well and swimming in an ocean of blessings!

Okay, I know that on another post I had mentioned that I had a drum ripped off from me before I even set eyes on it! Well today I was informed by WestCoast Drums that they were convinced that it was stolen and since it had been insured, I will be having it replaced!
!Maferefun Olodumare!

Needless to say, I'm as happy as a little girl! :D :p :D

Well, here are a couple of pics of the SuperTumba that I have, along with the Tumba which I received!

Onile! Those are fricken gorgeous!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And you plug them in to the wall cord!?!?! My God, they must play themselves!!!

I can recognize Akbar's work anywhere,,, and he sure does a fine job on the cold rolled steel rims eh? Nice and comfy.
And the bass booms on his drums, unlike the real Gon Bops that pretty much sorely lack in bass.

Alafia Abures Pavloconga and Windhorse!
I hope that you are both well and in an abundance of blessings my brothers!

Plug-n-Play Abure Windhorse! Plug-n-Play! :D :D :D
(I sort of forgot my daughter's Ninetendogs game plug in there)

Yeah! They are great drums, and as for bass sound, I did a gig yesterday afternoon at the Herde Museum with a Native American flautist, and a classical guitarist, and man I was hittin' some bass tones with my left hand on the Tumba that were insane. The sound of the drums, which this gig was totally acoustical, was incredilbly beautiful. Abure Windhorse, you are right! Akbars' work is fantastic, and soon (I hope), I will be completing my set with the final SuperTumba! I can't wait!

BTW my brothers, I located this website with GonBops offered at two different prices, both California and Tumbao Models. The difference is in the finish I suppose, but the point is the prices!

Many blessings my brothers!

Onile,

I am glad to know that they will replace the Tumba. I hope you don't have to wait an eternity. Talking about other stuff I have been hustling a little to play in others Clubs because giging have been kind of slow lately and waiting on the rotation to play again in the same club seems too long. Yesterday I visited a Club named El Criollo and I think we have an opportunity to play there at least in 2 weeks but I have to wait for the managers call. Ahi nos vemos

Suerte mi pana! Suerte!

Last nights gig was put on by the flautist himself, he didn't make any money on it, but did pay myself and the guitarist. It's amazing what we have to do to "drum-up" some business for us (musicians).

Adelante mi pana!

Yes,that happens to me,my brother and mi cousin,we played at El Palo 11 last Friday and we have to use some pros on the Piano and Bass because we got rid of those 2 in the group because some problems. We payed everybody esle in the band but nothing for us 3. Sometime you have to eat the wing first to then get to the breast. The effort was rewarded with a big performance from the band, the club was pack and we comply with the compromise, that is really what counts.
