Hey alex.

You are from Chi Town.. I am a little further south down in the sticks... WHere are good drums shops in illinois I cant find any.. I wanna get my hands on a few different drums before I make a purchase so I need to find a store carrying the top of the line drums from different brands ie. Meinl, Toca, PEARL> I wanna stay aaway from LP cuz to me they seem as the microsoft of drums. Once you controll the market you can cut costs and i think this is what they have done.

Thanks for any responses

Grateful1, hey how are you. i didn't notice your msg to me until right now so sorry for the delay. well we don't have much for stores to choose from.your best bet are either sam ash one located in burbank the other located in lombard, il. your other option is a place called the drum pad in palatine. i haven't been there yet but i heard they have a big selection. of course it's going to be your run of the mill congas as far as brands go. guitar center also of course i don't know if there is one near you but they have a very small selection. check craigslist for chicago and wisconsin as another option. there is 1 mom and pop shop that has congas, Disco city, but they only have LP and you would have to drive into the city. i would recommend you try the drum pad first. good luck and i hope i was a help!
