Matadors come with a mounting bracket.
Many people (like me) take them off because of several reasons.
I mostly always play seated, when I do use stands I use basket type stands which are best.
The mounting brackets look ugly and can damage the drums if they hit each other.

I FULLY AGREE WITH CONGAMYK,

I TOO, HAVE TAKEN MINE OFF. SOMETIMES I ALSO FEEL LIKE REMOVING THE HANDLES AS WELL. BUT, THEY DO COME IN HANDY. IT'S ONLY WHEN YOU THINK YOU WON'T NEED THEM, THAT YOU WILL.

Well, after all that... after much thinking and talking with friends and fellow musicians, I decided to splurge and go for a little higher quality drum. Sooooo, I ordered the LP Accents Eddie Montalvo Signature Series conga and tumba. I LOVE the cool graphics on them, and they are an excellent quality drum. I can't wait! I should have 'em in about a week or so. I figured I'm gonna have these for quite a while, so I might as well just spend a little more and get what I really want. You only live once, right? :) Next time you hear from me, I'll probably be asking what kind of skins I should upgrade to!

Thanks again for all of your input!

Great choice. You will not regret it. The accents have some fine hardware as well as a great sound, and youre right no doubt about the graphics, they are the bomb! Please be sure to post some pictures after you receive them :-)>

Yeah those are basically original classics with the hip graphics.
Nice choice.

Mike, what are these and where can I get them?

Hi Congamyk,
I am not to sure if I can find the correct words here, but
these are simply caps you can put on furniture joints to hide the hole
in which bolt, screws or whatever are. You can get them at practically
every building supplies store. To be honest, I did not buy them, but they
came as spare caps with my son´s wooden bed.
As the drills LP make in the shells are rather standard size (ab. 6 mm),
most those caps should fit. At least here in Germany :)

I hope I could help a bit. Just liked to share my experience.

Regards,
Mike

So, I ended up going with the LP Eddie Montalvo conga and Tumba. See my thread titled "LP Eddie Montalvo Series" for more details...
