Hey Marco,
that´s funny: El Greco or you, respectively, have added a new verb to the English language!

Well, as the skin on this quinto is rather on the thin side and has lots of overtones, I consider recycling my almost 2 litres of olive oil that are left from the mule procedure. Why not - it does wonders to skins...
BTW when dealing with olive oil, my hands were also grateful for some extra care! :D

How are the oil prices in the UK? Have you already pondered the question of el grecoing your JCR skins?
What´s the barrel of olive juice?

Cheers anyway by a well-greased Mike
Peace & drum

I have the same drums in quinto & conga. The crowns are stronger than mant traditional crowns & I changed the heads but both the original heads are good, thicker than Lp & so the tone is cleaner, no odd hermonic ringiness. The quinto is very impressive when cranked up a 5 th above my conga. I am rtading them for a larger set of Meinls from Asia ( same woods, just larger shell sizes ) then the meinls w/ remo heads will be my rental set or when I need a plastic head drum. My regular use congas are 1998 Gon Bops ( Molinari era )

was not Afro Percussion the company that also offered fiberglass congas which were inside coated with sawdust to eliminate that metallic sound? That was a funny idea. When you touched the coating, some of the dust came off. I wonder whether a drummer left circular spots of sawdust wherever he played.

It was a bit like that. I will upload some photos of my Afros-

cheers...
