How does the stretched skin sound compared with the original? Did the stretching affect the sound of the slaps? The tones?
In the picture, the rim is bent because least one hook is missing, there is a great shortage of hardware in Cuba.

OT, Thanks for posting that great picture of Regalao, the best living quinto player I have ever heard. Of course that is just my opinion, with my bias toward a relaxed, clean quinto style that talks with the dancers and other drummers, and doesn't overplay and walk all over the singer or other drum parts. Look at how flat his fingers are, all in one plane. That is part of the reason for his clean sound.
