It's a terrific restoration. You brought these drums back to life.

Another one of the things that I like about these older sets of CP's is how the inside surface is coted with what I believe to be some sort of Poly. These are no doubt some nice drums.

i just got a cosmic percussion fiberglass qunito in black, same badge and hardware as yours, like to know the quinto size head, mine playing service measures at around 9.5. very clean fiberglass with no nicks or ware, i think that the hardware will polish out real nice. so what is your quinto head size. will post photos this weekend when i polish and put it together, PS got it for a 100.00, this will go with my 3 lp palisaides..

Nice project KK, but i would have love to see u stain it with an exotic mahogany, or walnut color, so it wouldnt look like the natural wood lp classics u find at the music stores...i would have loved a more rare color on those..

Maybe you can still do it and the poly coat as one of the members mention just brought the wood grain up in color so when u stain it u can still see the wood grain..i like Mathew Smith, J.C.R, and Isla mahogany, and walnut exotic wood grain congas :D

How about some mule skins on those cp's for some terrific sound?

Greetings Willie. Congratulations on your recent aquired CP. You will be happy with it and it will no doubt be a great addition to your palisaides.
The head size on my quinto is a woping 10" and still has the original skin, 1992, which by the way sounds awesome.
As Ive sayd before, these older CP's are well worth having being that their construction and hardware are just like the more modern LP Classics and Matadors, notice I sayd "construction" and not style :D .

I did consider a nice stain but to be honest with you I kinda because I have never stained anything before so I was not sure about how they would turn out. I will defenetly consider it for next time for sure.
As for the Mule skins, believe it or not, these really do sound very nice, old school sound. Maybe Ill record them and post the clip.
