I had been meaning to post my congas on this thread for a while, but I forgot. These pictures were taken the same day I got the drums, but the skin looks completely different now it's turned a creamy color on the conga. They sound so much better since I've broken them in a little. I should be starting a new job soon and I plan on getting some mule skin skins when the money becomes available. I know new skins will take them to a whole new level. Okay, here are my Pearl Primero Pro congas again. I love them.

Victorious, I believe akdom was saying that he broke one of his tuning lugs that was 9 mm in thickness.

VinnieL,
I don't currently have any videos on youtube, but I think I've seen the ones you're talking about. I pretty much just started playing congas three weeks ago when mine arrived, but once I get better I would like to post a video of myself playing.

I couldn't find Pearl congas at any music store near where I live. All the stores had were LP, and starter sets from Meinl, Schalloch, and Sonor, so I had no idea what my congas where going to sound like until they arrived at my house. I'm very happy with them and I'm glad I made this purchase. I like LP's but I just couldn't afford a good set new and there were never any congas posted on my local Craigslist. It took about six months, but I finally came across the Primero Pro's. Being a recent High School graduate with a very part time job it took me 14 months to save up for them, but I wouldn't change anything. Having to wait that long just made me love them that much more when I finally got them. Thanks for looking at my drums everyone.

lol

sorry if my english is not perfect, but it's not my first language.

Anyway, I use very thick skins (around 5mm) and I like my drums tight. So the stress is gigantic... And, maybe this hook had an air bubble in it.. I will have to have a closer look.

Hola 6x8,

De nada, those pics were posted at PrimeraHora.com yesterday, and I decided to share them with you guys.

I met Pipo briefly like two years ago at the Arthur Murray Academy in Miramar. He was teaching Bomba classes on Monday nights ove there.

Mete un Primo del cará... I also met "Junito", Pablo and others from their SB crew at La Antigua Paseadora en Piñones, very nice group of talented individuals.

Saludos,

JG

Just thought all of you would enjoy a great picture of some awesome Valjes that were up for sale sometime back. The person who got this pristine set is no doubt blessed.
