I PROBABLY HAVE MORE HOURS OF CHATTING WITH MARIO OVER THE PHONE, THAN MOST DO HERE. AT LEAST TWO YEARS WORTH OF MANY HOURS, AT VARIOUS TIMES OF THE DAY, AND NIGHT.

LETS NOT MISS THE POINT HERE, OR TRY TO STEER THIS TOPIC INTO A DIFFERENT DIRECTION. THE ORIGINAL POSTS BY THE MEMBERS OF THIS FORUM THAT WERE WRONGFULLY DELETED, SHOULD BE RETRIEVED AND REPOSTED HERE. REMEMBER, DO'NT THINK FOR A SECOND THAT MARIO IS NOT READING ALL THIS. IN FACT, JUST LIKE WHEN A CUSTOMER HAD ISSUES WITH ISSAC FROM JCR, HE HIMSELF AS A BUSINESS MAN, STEPPED UP TO THE PLATE WITH IN THIS FORUM, AND TRIED TO MAKE THINGS RIGHT WITH THAT CUSTOMER AND AT THE END OF THE DAY LOOKED VERY, VERY GOOD AND CREDIBLE, AS WELL AS GETTING SOME FREE ADVERTIZING. I DON'T EVEN SEE WHERE THE WORRY IS, BECAUSE ( NO ONE HAS SAID ANYTHING DAMAGING ABOUT ISLA, JUST BRINGING OUT AREAS OF CONCERN, AREAS THAT NEED IMPROVEMENT.

THIS IS AGAIN, A FREE AND OPEN FORUM. NOT A RESTRICTIVE, LIST ONLY WHAT A FEW OF US WISH YOU TO LIST FORUM.

COMMON SENSE IS TO RIDE THE WAVES, LEARN FROM THEM, AND THEN MAKE THE NECESSARY ADJUSTMENTS IN ORDER TO DO IT BETTER NEXT TIME. BUT TO FIGHT THE WAVES IS A LOOSING BATTLE BECAUSE, THE WAVES ARE MUCH TOO STRONG AND POWERFUL.

CUSTOMERS MUST BE HAPPY, AND FREE TO INFORM AND EXPRESS THEMSELVES IN A WAY THAT IS HEALTHLY FOR US ALL. TO HINDER THIS, IS NOT A GOOD THING FOR ANYONE.

BECAUSE OF THIS OBVIOUS RESISTANCE, ALOT OF TIME AND EFFORT IS BEING WAISTED. WHEN WE COULD JUST SHARE THE INFO, AND MOVE ON.

CHARLIE.

Yes, very well said Dr Blood.

I hope it is good press for Isla. It should be.

If i had your skill in communication, perhaps i wouldn't get myself in trouble.. ...perhaps...

I posted my ranking of the top congas i've been fortunate to encounter, by sound quality and value.

Note: My recommendation under best congas in the world at around 500 each is Isla Percussion. And thats no ass kissing

HOPEFULLY THE ADMINISTRATOR (ABAKUA), WILL BE ABLE TO RETRIEVE, AND REPOST THE DELETED POSTS IN QUESTION.

OTHERWISE, WE'LL JUST HAVE TO START REPOSTING THE INFORMATION GENTS, AND BE MORE SPECIFIC AS TO WHAT QUALITY ISSUES AND CONCERNS WERE FOUND ON YOUR DRUMS.

REMEMBER, THIS IS TO BE EXERCISED, WITH INTEGRITY. (MEANING MENTION ONLY FACTUAL ITEMS OF CONCERN). THIS IS NOT A BASH AND TRASH ISLA TOPIC. THIS IS MEANT AS A WAY FOR ISLA CUSTOMERS/OWNERS TO SHARE IMPORTANT IFORMATION ABOUT IT'S PRODUCTS
IN AN OPEN FORUM; AND TO NOTE, WHAT IMPROVEMENTS SHOULD BE MADE. WE SHOULD ALSO NOT SLAM OUR FELLOW MEMBERS FOR STATING THIER HONEST ASSESSMENTS. THE INFORMATION SHARED HERE WILL BENEFIT US ALL. ISLA IS A FINE YOUNG COMPANY, THAT I AM SURE, APPRECIATES ALL HONEST INPUTS.

"Mario is a great guy and a very intelligent man I'm sure he would not take offense to any constructive criticism at all he knows what he puts out of his shop and what is false and factual."

Mario does know what he puts out of his shop and what is false and factual, in terms of what people say or write.

However not all the people can distinguish what is factual from what is false on being put by other people on the forum, about a product. (specially new people, or someone who might be thinking about buying that product)
Unless one is the maker, or an owner of that product, in this case Isla percussions.
And the one that can adress any questions on the product, or concerns, with real facts is Mario.

MR. CONGA,

SO, SHOULD ONLY THE FLOWERY PRAISE BE GIVEN, ACCEPTED, AND CONSIDERED TO BE TRUE AND FACTUAL, IN ALL POSTS, ON THIS BOARD?

IF A CUSTOMER, OR ANYONE ELSE FOR THAT MATTER, WITH FACTUAL INFORMATION, WISHES TO SHARE IT IN A POST FOR OTHERS, TO VIEW AND CONSIDER, IT SHOULD BE GIVEN THE SAME RESPECT AND CONSIDERATION, AS WHEN SOMEONE SAY'S (OH MY GOD!!! THESE ARE THE FINEST CONGAS I HAVE EVER PLAYED, AND THESE ARE OF THE HIGHEST QUALITY I HAVE EVER SEEN !!!). COME ON NOW!

AN ARTISAN IS AN ARTISAN, AS A CUSTOMER, OR PROSPECTIVE CUSTOMER IS JUST THAT.
THIS BOARD, IS FOR POSTING ALL THAT IS RELATED. EVEN IF A CUSTOMER OR OTHER, DISCUSSES A PROBLEM AREA WITH AN ARTISAN, LIKE MARIO. IT STILL DOES NOT MEAN THAT THE INFORMATION WILL NOT BE SHARED, AND OR, POSTED.

to your question, who ever mention anything about only give flowers

When i have received a great hand made product, i have shared my satisfaction, and my honest review ,when i have received something not as advertise i have also given my opinion.

who disrespect someone for their opinion..... .....on my behave i have consider all opinion, not disrespected any one for their opinion..... we all have different opinions.

I have simply let people know my satisfaction with my congas, and shared my opinion.
Just like you may feel really pleased with your Ritmo percussions.

do you own Isla's? has Mario made you drums?

I commented on vennieL, post, i agree with him, and just think that the only one that Knows true from false is Mario, other people might not....i did not disrespect any one's opinion.

Someone speculated about the materials being used on Isla's, the only one that knows that is the maker, i called and ask, and the rumor is false, so for someone else to say this is what they are using, is no acuratly to the fact.
The materials used are grade A, not from just anywhere. I dont know of a custumer that Mario has done the best thing to solve any question, or issue. He is always helpful, and a gentle man, about what his work, he is a cool cat, and takes care of the old custumers, as well of as the new.

I have never seeing hardware crack on a conga, for people putting false stuff should back it up with proof in my opinion. Post pictures of your conga, and what you argue to be a flaw (A fly that gets on top of your drum ... , or droping a drum is not a manufacture flaw).

People that don't own Isla were commenting on suppost flaws, when they don't even own isla congas.

Before one read's a critic one should ask does that person own the product, as i found by reading some critics, and asking Mario, he never made congas for certain people criticising.
Unfortunetly most things on the internet are judged on a image, just by looking at a picture.
I cant tell you how Bently runs, if i have not owned one. Nor could i really compare from a BMW, and a Bently.

Most Isla owners on this forum are satisfied, from what i have read.

I don't own an Isla yet, but I can tell you I have seen some with problems. Just because I don't own an Isla yet doesn't mean I
haven't seen a lot of them. I have probably seen a lot more of these drums than you. I've seen at least 4 full sets and a couple
of singles. I think thats plenty enough to form an opinion on them. Some of these drums had problems I already talked about.
Mario even told me about some of them. I still like Islas and I still ordered one and I still post about them.

MR. CONGA,

I REALLY DON'T SEEM TO KNOW WHAT TO TELL YOU. YOU OBVIOUSLY DON'T GET IT.

NOW, AS FOR BEING AN OWNER OF ISLA'S, THAT I AM, AND I CONSIDER THEM THE FINEST CONGAS, THAT I HAVE EVER OWNED, SO FAR. THEY ALSO HAVE THAT SUPER RARE, TRUE FOLKLORIC SOUND, THAT I HAVE BEEN SEARCHING FOR, IN THE PAST, FOR MANY YEARS. IT'S FUNNY HOWEVER, HOW YOU HAVE MENTIONED JUST HOW PROUD I AM OF MY RITMO'S WHICH ARE MY NEWEST SET OF BONGOS. PROUD TO OWN THEM? VERY MUCH SO! YET I HAVE NOT COMMENTED ON THE MANY REASONS WHY, JUST YET. SO I FIND THAT A LITTLE ODD, OF YOU MENTIONING IT. ALL THAT I HAVE DONE SO FAR, IS POST THEIR GORGEOUS PHOTOS. I HAVE THOUGH, ON A FEW OCCASIONS RECOMMENDED THE GONBOPS CA SERIES BONGOS VERY FEVERISHLY SO, BECAUSE THEY ARE THAT GOOD!

ONCE AGAIN, I WILL SAY THIS: THE GOOD AND THE BAD, SHOULD MERIT EQUAL CONSIDERATION BY ALL, HERE IN THIS FORUM.

OK, NOW THAT YOU KNOW, THAT I AM A PROUD OWNER OF ISLA'S, I WILL ALSO REMIND YOU THAT I HAVE NOT GIVEN MY PERSONAL CRITIQUE OF ANY QUALITY ISSUE'S AS OF YET. NOW AS FOR PHOTOS, CONCERNING MINE, I HAVE PLENTY OF THEM. TO SHOW HOW GORGEOUS THEY LOOK, AS WELL AS TO HAVE A RECORD OF ANY FLAWS. WILL I POST THE PHOTO'S OF THE FLAWS?

I DO NOT WISH TO, NOR DO I FIND IT NECESSARY, AT THIS POINT, TO POST SUCH PHOTO'S. BECAUSE, I HAVE SPOKEN DIRECTLY WITH MARIO CONCERNING MY FINDINGS. AND I AM SURE HE KNOWS ME WELL ENOUGH, TO VALUE MY INPUT'S. OUR RESPECT FOR ONE ANOTHER IS MUTUAL, AT LEAST THE LAST TIME I'VE CHECKED.

IT'S SIMPLE, AND NOT THAT HARD. LET'S JUST BE HAPPY AND POST.
