Wow, such awesome drums! Hello all... I am new to the site and forum and just wanted to jump in and say that seeing these magnificent pieces of craftsmanship, and the education I am absorbing simply by following the thread of thoughts you all share, is an appreciated education.

can someone please upload a youtube video already??!! I keep hearing about the Ritmos and I've already fallen in love with the look but nobody has put up videos to hear how they sound! :?

does anyone know if Jerry Gonzalez' last cd with Los Piratas del Flamenco was recorded with Ritmos??

peace

I don't know if that cd was done with Ritmo's but I would bet money that he used Matthew Smith's drums on Rumba Buhaina....they are shown on the cover and I believe there is a picture in the studio in which they show the drums that are obviously Matt's work...What is interesting to note, that Steve Berrios does alot of the overdub percussion on the album so who knows, it may or may not be Matthew's drums throughout.

Those are not Ritmos on any of those videos, they are Junior Tirados. Grant you, I saw him with Ft. Apache at Satalla in NYC in 2006 and he had four Ritmos. I asked him about his Juniors, if he wanted to sell them since he was playing Ritmos, he said the Juniors were in Madrid being repaired by a Spaniard artisan on account that Junior had died. He told me he would never sell his Juniors. Rimos and Juniors resemble each others. Take a look at my Juniors and my Ritmos.
The ones on top are my Ritmos, the ones on the bottom are two of 5 Juniors I have.

Steven, the P. Rican Van Gogh of the Jicamo,

Thanks bro. A comer pasteles, a comer lechon. I'm craving for some PR pasteles, piononos and alcapurrias. Do you know in So. Fl. where I can buy some, maybe up in your neck of the woods?

Rompe tambo'
